Danbolig

Context
The nature of the work
My work with Danbolig combined ongoing UX optimisation of their website with the development of new digital initiatives. A particular focus was exploring opportunities for new digital services, developing concepts and validating designs through user testing. Throughout this work, I collaborated closely with the client and cross-functional teams.
Exploration
Exploring opportunities in the customer journey
My exploratory work with Danbolig involved journey mapping, facilitating workshops, and early concept development to better understand customer needs and identify new opportunities.
An example of this was a workshop focused on the early home-buying journey. Together with the client, we explored the needs and challenges of first-time buyers and identified opportunities to better support them. One of these opportunities was helping younger, city-based buyers feel more confident about moving to unfamiliar neighbourhoods. Beyond finding the right property, buyers also needed to imagine what everyday life in a new area might look like. This insight became the starting point for further concept development.

Concepts
Turning opportunities into digital concepts
Building on the exploratory work, I helped develop digital concepts addressing different customer needs. Here are two examples I contributed to, both of which are live today.
Boligdrøm: Life beyond the property
Boligdrøm grew out of the workshop findings and explored how Danbolig could help buyers imagine life in an unfamiliar neighbourhood. I focused on how the concept could fit into the existing home search journey, particularly the property detail pages where many visitors arrive directly from Boligsiden. I also explored which local insights would be most relevant to buyers and how AI could bring this information together into a more personalised and engaging experience.

Boligskøn: Simplifying property valuation
Boligskøn is a step-by-step experience that gives homeowners an indicative property valuation based on a series of questions. I helped shape the journey from early wireframes through to interaction design, focusing on making a potentially complex process feel simple and reassuring. This included structuring questions, simplifying interactions and providing contextual guidance to help users answer confidently. Different versions of the experience were later evaluated through A/B testing for further improvements.

User testing
Validating and refining experiences
User testing was a recurring part of my work with Danbolig, covering both new concepts and improvements to existing experiences. I planned and facilitated remote sessions with users across Denmark, developing interview guides and tasks to test design assumptions and identify usability challenges. I then translated the findings into recommendations that helped the team refine solutions and prioritise improvements based on user feedback.
