Garnier

Context
The nature of the work
My work with Garnier was part of a long-term global partnership, combining ongoing UX optimisation with initiatives to improve consistency and scalability across markets. Alongside designing new digital experiences, I helped make the global design system more accessible to local teams through documentation, education and ongoing support.
UX Design
Improving the global digital experience
A recurring part of my work was improving Garnier's digital customer experience, from optimising existing journeys to designing new features and components for global use. This included improving global search, product discovery and product detail experiences, as well as redesigning the main navigation.

Rethinking global navigation
One larger initiative was redesigning Garnier's main navigation to make it easier for customers to explore products and discover relevant content. I evaluated different navigation structures and interaction patterns, focusing on how to reduce complexity and make the hierarchy easier to understand.

These principles helped shape a clearer, more guided navigation experience across desktop and mobile.

Design system
Making the design system easier to use
Another important part of my work was improving how Garnier's global design system was documented and used by local market teams. I helped create a dedicated guideline platform where editors could find design principles, component documentation and practical guidance for building consistent digital experiences across markets.

Supporting global adoption
Beyond creating the guidelines, I helped local editors understand and apply the design system in their daily work. This included training sessions, tutorials, release updates and ongoing support, helping editors use components correctly and maintain consistency across market websites.

Collaboration & Delivery
Working across teams and markets
I worked closely with Garnier's global stakeholders and an external development team in India, helping clarify requirements, align design decisions and support implementation across teams. For six months, I also took on project management responsibilities, coordinating with the client on planning, priorities and delivery. This gave me experience balancing UX considerations with broader project needs and responsibilities.
